Juz Kitson

Known for her hauntingly beautiful installations which simultaneously traverse the exquisite and the grotesque, Kitson has carved a name herself as one of the country’s finest contemporary ceramicists and sculptors. Most recently, Kitson has exhibited in the 2016 Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art: Magic Object. Her work is held within the permanent collection of the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA), Hobart and in private collections in Australia, Britain and Germany.

Of NAS, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) in Ceramics in 2009, she says, “Having the support, encouragement and freedom to experiment within the Ceramic department helped to build the main foundation of my practice. The lecturers in the Drawing department nurtured my strange and unconventional aesthetic (…) I've had a lot of support from the art world, close friends and the National Art School and I'm forever grateful for that.”
