Learn how to draw intuitively from the three-dimensional world into the two-dimensional plane using the fundamental skills of observational drawing. Annelies Jahn teaches with traditional methods and materials such as pencil, charcoal and ink and introduces you to a variety of subject matter from still life set-ups to drawing the figure from real life models. Draw outdoors at the historical NAS campus and on location at the Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney. You will learn how to understand what you are looking at (not what you think you see), build trust in your ways of seeing, learn how to measure spaces, create compositions and discover experimental techniques. Annelies will show you the relationship between the hand and the eye, moving from drawing exercises, sketches and studies to finished artworks. This course is suitable for total beginners and also those who want to refresh their drawing skills.
