Tania Browitt

Printmaking Lecturer (Sessional)

In her most recent work, Browitt uses the camera, print and installation to raise suggestive questions about subjectivity, identity and landscape. She stages the construction and deconstruction of subjectivity through the movement from entrapment in culturally and religiously imprinted beliefs to liberation through self-awareness of the coded, socially constructed self. Browitt invites the viewer to contemplate their own coded social self and join her photographic subjects in a movement of liberation.
