Alumna wins Brett Whiteley Travelling Art Scholarship

Congratulations to alumna Lucy O’Doherty who has been awarded the highly prestigious Brett Whiteley Travelling Art Scholarship. The scholarship includes $30,000 and a three-month residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris. O’Doherty is looking forward to heading to Europe, "It's a great opportunity to push myself into doing something new." Lucy’s father, also NAS alumni, Chris O’Doherty aka Reg Mombassa advice is to "work hard and look at as much interesting stuff as you can." The annual scholarship was established in 1999 by Beryl Whiteley, the mother of the late artist Brett Whiteley, and is open to Australian painters aged between 20 and 30.
