NAS Drawing Lecturer Jude Rae has won the prestigious Bulgari Art Award, consisting of $50,000 for the acquisition of her winning painting ‘SL 359’ into the AGNSW collection and a residency in Italy valued at $30,000. Jude is most well-known however for her highly refined exploration of the genre of still life painting and her previously minimal depictions of everyday objects have become increasingly rich and complex in recent years. Reflecting on her achievement Jude said “I know that the residency will have a great impact on my practice and will provide a vast array of incredible experiences." The work is currently on view at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
