Miles Hall is a Montpellier-based Australian contemporary artist whose practice explores the encounter between colour, gesture and abstraction. Miles will discuss his painting practice in advance of his upcoming exhibition at Nicholas Thompson Gallery, Melbourne (19 August – 10 September), as well as his role as a Lecturer in Painting and Drawing at l’École Superiéure des Beaux-Arts de Montpellier Agglomération (ESBAMA) in Montpellier, France. NAS and ESBAMA have successfully hosted a number of student exchanges, and ESBAMA has a similar studio-based teaching philosophy to NAS.
